Requirements
Documents Required for obtaining Marriage License
You must be in possession of a valid passport or, Drivers license and Birth Certificate.
Immigration form stamped by Bahamas Immigration should be available when applying for
your documents, showing date and time of arrival into the Bahamas, this is very important.
Documents in foreign languages must be translated into English and notarized before your
arrival to the Bahamas.
If you are divorced, please bring along original divorce decree or certified copy
If widowed, a death certificate must be submitted confirming same. Persons under the
age of 18 years of age, requires an affidavit stating parents consent to marry. Forms are
available at the Registrar Generals Office Nassau Bahamas.
If you are traveling by cruise ship, you are required to bring along an original letter
confirming date and time ship entered the Bahamas. Letter must also confirm that Bride
and Groom are indeed passengers on that cruise ship…
All fees pertaining to your marriage license and affidavits are included in your selected
wedding package. You will also be escorted by your Personal Wedding Assistant to
proceed with your documentation and escorted back to your hotel after processing has
been completed

A 24 Hours residency period is required by the Bahamas Government prior to applying for your
marriage license. Persons wanting to get married on a Saturday or Sunday must be in the
Bahamas by Thursday to apply for license on Friday.
